35 YEARS OF ARCHIVAL PAINTINGS
I am a professional landscape and seascape painter and make my living painting pictures. I work mostly outdoors on location and in my studio. Like the 19th century painters Renoir, Pissarro, Monet, Gauguin and more, I enjoy the outdoors and the compositions being outdoors provides. The light, the shadows, the colors and the experience of listening and viewing nature all give me ideas for a painting.
Born in Boston (1945), and growing up there, I was always exposed to the beaches and shores of coastal New England from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Maine and that is where I get my inspiration to paint. started out by sketching all the beautiful scenes surrounding me then gradually worked from watercolors to oils. Primarily self-taught, I painted with many fine painters more experienced than I, and learned much in the process. (there was no Internet back then) so one had to find ways of gaining experience. My paintings are in both private and corporate collections throughout the world. My hobbies include flying (I am a Private Pilot) and I enjoy playing guitar both solo and with other musicians.
